Where the premium-price expectation came from
In a March 2025 prediction, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo described a premium foldable and discussed pricing above $2,000. That is an analyst forecast made long before the event, not an Apple price announcement or a reliable cap on what every configuration would cost.
We removed the unsupported claim that Apple confirmed a foldable for September 9 and the unverified comparison with a supposed Galaxy Z Fold 8 price. Those statements should not have supported purchase advice.
List tasks you would use on a larger screen: reviewing documents, reading, maps or working across apps. Then verify the actual software’s support and how the interface behaves. A foldable display does not by itself prove that a particular multiwindow mode or app workflow exists.
Compare the total cost
After an announcement, check storage, repair terms, insurance or service options, accessory costs and return conditions alongside the phone price. Do not treat a shipment forecast as evidence of personal value or long-term durability.
Questions to resolve before ordering
Confirm the actual model name, dimensions, display construction, battery specifications and available software. Distinguish manufacturer specifications from independent measurements. Hinge longevity, camera quality and comfort require evidence beyond a render or prediction.
For cases and screen protection, follow the device and accessory makers’ instructions. A sleeve is not automatically the only safe format, and a generic glass protector should not be assumed suitable for a folding screen.
