This is the question people actually want answered, so here it is plainly: leaving a modern MacBook plugged in all day will not ruin the battery. The idea that you must cycle a laptop battery daily is a holdover from nickel-cadmium chemistry that has not applied to Apple laptops for two decades.
When your Mac reaches its target charge, it stops pushing current into the cell and runs the system from the power adapter. It does not sit there endlessly trickle-charging and cooking the battery. Combined with Optimized Battery Charging or a charge limit, a permanently docked Mac is a perfectly reasonable way to live.
What genuinely does damage batteries is heat, and that is where docked users should focus their attention instead. Sustained high temperature accelerates capacity loss far more reliably than any charging pattern. A Mac running a heavy export while closed, stacked under a monitor stand with no airflow, in a warm room, is doing more harm than the charger ever will.
Practical version: keep the vents clear, do not run sustained heavy workloads with the lid closed and the machine buried, and do not leave it in a hot car.
